Blackwell was really fun when we went. We did archery, rock climbing, abseiling, and dual zip—wire. The best activity I believe was the archery because we had a laugh and had team building games.

I and four other cadets took part in a L98A2 rifle weekend. The first day we spent in a classroom learning how to strip and clean the rifle and all of the safety procedures and then we took the test to allow us to shoot. The second day we spent on the range. I found the weekend very enjoyable.

On 19th February, some of 2516 squadron attended a day walk. The whole point of the day was to improve cadets’ map reading skills. I learned how to take a bearing and how to read a map. We walked from the squadron to the Hanbury area. It was a very enjoyable day and I would definitely go again.

Dinedor was a great weekend! It is an all greens weekend where we do loads of outdoor adventurous activities; these build teamwork and leadership skills for later in life. Also it was a fun weekend as there was a night exercise including camouflage and concealment, room clearance and fire making.

In October, 6 cadets went on a mountaineering weekend in Snowdonia. The first day we were split into three ability groups. My group covered four peaks which was the highest and furthest of all the groups. The second day we did micro nav. I found it extremely enjoyable and it helped me improve my navigation.
